The character of Claudius the King in Shakespeares  hamlet is a complex individual.   In the play he murders his brother, marries his former sister-in-law (the  poove), and ascends to the   female genitalia of Denmark.  These three deeds were performed by a shrewd and   self-interest man.  The King will do almost anything to protect the  skunk, in spite of knowing that he did not right effectivey   tow it. By receiving the courts acceptance of him as King, Claudius can proceed to comfortably reign and carry  go forth the affairs of the state of Denmark.
